Job Summary
To lead the execution of brand promotions and consumer, trade and corporate events, which contribute to the delivery of annual portfolio and brand objectives and targets (such as brand awareness, brand imagery, volume, market share), on budget and on time.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Consumer and trade/customer promotions
Working with the Brands, Trade Marketing and Sales teams provide strategic & executional input support to brand plan marketing activations that effectively deliver against brand consumer goals. Lead the field execution of approved consumer and trade promotions, including production of execution timetables; co-ordination of the Promotions & Events Execution team and internal and third-party personnel; creating & delivering internal & external briefings and production of status reports. Monitor execution and recommend corrective action where necessary to the Marketing Manager, Brands, and/or the Trade Marketing or Sales teams. Trade Marketing and Sales teams in compiling information for post-activity evaluations, to ensure that learnings are captured for future activity planning.
Consumer and trade/customer events
Work with the Brands, Trade Marketing and Sales teams in the planning of consumer and trade events, including launch events for new brands, products and pack formats. Ensure that clear briefs are prepared for each event. Maintain an annual calendar of consumer and trade events to ensure proper advance planning. Lead the execution of the events, including planning schedules; checklists; co-ordination of the Promotions & Events Execution team, internal and third-party personnel; and production of status reports. Assist the Brands, Trade Marketing and Sales teams in compiling information for post-event evaluations where required, to ensure that learnings are captured for future event planning. Maintain a database of venues and third-party event planning agencies/consultants, to ensure that Rorank has full knowledge of the capabilities offered by venues and agencies so that selection decisions can be made quickly during the planning process. Maintain a network of entertainers such as MC’s, singers and dance troupes and build relationships with artistes, celebrities and their agents, so that Rorank has a network on which to call when needed for events. Handle all requests from consumers and customers for Rorank support for events, working with the Marketing Manager to ensure that responses given are in line with brand strategies and plans and any relevant Rorank policies.
Corporate events
Assist the Corporate Affairs team as required with the execution of corporate events.
Staff events
Assist the HR team if required with the execution of staff events
Brand health, activity and competitor monitoring
Assist Sales teams in the production of regular competitor activity reports by identifying and reporting on promotions and events carried out by both competitors and other brands, so that learnings from these can be applied to Rorank brand and event planning as relevant.
Budget:
As required, assist the Marketing Manager in preparing accruals and expenditure forecasts.
Capability building and people development
Lead the Promotions & Events Execution team in best practice execution processes and develop their capabilities through performance management, coaching and identification of training needs.
Management of third-party agencies and suppliers
Assist the Marketing Manager in managing the performance of third-party agencies, suppliers and consultants used by the Marketing function, including collating information for performance reviews and identifying any performance issues as they arise.
