INTRODUCTION
Link Community Development International (Link International) was established in 1989 as Link Community Development and is one of a family of partner organizations working to improve the quality of education in rural schools across sub-Saharan Africa so that children and their communities have better life opportunities
Link International works at all levels of the education system – with communities, schools and governments – to identify and remove the obstacles to quality education. We work with our partner organizations to improve schools and the quality of education they deliver; to build the capacity of district departments of education; and to support government education policy and inform national and regional strategies.
JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Program Officers will support the delivery of Link’s Girls’ Education Challenge ‘STAGES’ project in Ethiopia in general and four intervention Woredas in particular. Reporting to the Programme Coordinators of Link Community Development Ethiopia, the post-holders will ensure all project activities are delivered as per the work plan. S/he takes supporting role in education project activities implementation, ensures networking with strategic partners; organize, liaises and establishes working partnership with local government organizations and works closely with other STAGES Program, Support functions and MERL team.
The Assistant Program Officers has expected to be aware of the Regional Education Policies, Strategies, and Education Sector Development Programs (ESDP-V) including Gender strategies of MoE. S/he should have good knowledge of equity and quality issues of primary education in the region.
S/he is responsible for documenting best practices and case stories that would help for sharing achievement of the project to others and scaling up innovative ideas in other areas in the Zone, Region as well as in the Country. S/he will document relevant data for substantiating narrative report. S/he has also expected to liaise with communities, local authorities, other agencies and STAGE’s projects regularly to ensure coordination, collaboration and effective implementation of activities of the project.
