Programme Planning and Implementation • Prepare program activity plan in collaboration with other sector SPO and concerned stakeholders. • Ensure proper and timely implementation of health and nutrition sector of the project with standard quality and efficiently; · Facilitate and involve in different survey; · Improve case management skills of HEWs, HWs and Concern Worldwide outreach workers through standard guidelines, basic training, on the job training and follow-up; · Provide technical and supportive supervision support to existing health facilities and improving the health system to deliver IMNCI and ICCM through organization of work in health facilities and management and supervision; · Build skills of health workers and health extension workers to correctly assess, classify, and manage common childhood illnesses; · Provide appropriate technical support to and also closely work with Woreda health office to ensure the proper prevention of outbreaks in the Woreda; · Facilitate and support standalone campaigns, social mobilizations by inviting people to distribution points (e.g. vaccination, EOS, other routinely used distribution sites; · Fcilitate logistics and provide technical support for Woreda Health Office and health facilities in planning and implementation of activities; · Provide on job training and supportive supervision support for health professionals and HEW on CMAM, IMNCI, ICCM, PHEM, HMIS, IYCF and related health services; · Provide technical support for outreach workers to plan and implement health and hygiene promotion related activities in the respective kebeles; · Conduct community awareness raising sessions in collaboration with outreach workers, HEWs and HWs on IYCF and related health issues in social gatherings, etc. events; · Establish and strengthen school clubs to promote IYCF, good hygiene practice and related activities, and support cooking demonstration at health facility, farmer training center, and school and community level. Reporting • Design and develop reporting format for internal use in collaboration with sectoral advisor and M&E department; · Produce and submit concise, reliable, timely periodic quality progress reports on Health and Nutrition sector (weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, and annually); · Ensure that proper data/information collection and documentation of the programme implementation is maintained; · Collect and document all progress in the implementation of activities (at activity, output and impact level) and maintain project data, record and document; · Document/record appropriate data using appropriate database on time at Woreda level; · Document and share the findings of case studies, case stories and other assessment findings; · Conduct situational analysis and prepare comprehensive report and submit to the line manager for further action; · Prepare detailed operational activity plan for the program in the respective woreda; · Prepare implementation guideline and other modalities for the programme; · Provide technical and supportive supervision to Concern field staff to implement the activities with standard quality; · Provide appropriate training and orientation to field team members on the objective, strategies, target group, etc.; · Build report writing capacity/skill of staff through providing technical assistance or/and providing/facilitating relevant training.
Monitoring & Evaluation · Design and develop appropriate databases and properly collect, document and share the appropriate information to line manager. · Take lead in regular monitoring and evaluation activities of the programme. · Prepare monitoring checklist and schedule and share with line managers on time. · Conduct quarterly monitoring visits and organize discussions to ensure efficient and effective implementation of programs. · Plan and undertake regular technical and supportive supervision field visits and ensure the implementation of planned activities is in line with programme documents and standard quality. · Prepare and share the major findings of quarterly monitoring and other technical support field visit reports. · Undertake regular technical and supportive supervision visits and provide technical advice to ensure quality of programme implementation.
Networking and Collaboration · Design, develop and implement working modalities to integrate the programme activities with other internal program sectors, Woreda sector offices and other government agencies. · Create strong working relation/collaboration with other CPAMA sector SPOs and update on activities. · Create strong working relation/collaboration with other Concern programs/projects implementing within the assigned woreda and other NGOs. · Share inputs to line managers for various networks and collaboration forum with government and other relevant organizations related to the program for learning and experience sharing. · Support learning and experience sharing among partner organizations and stakeholders to ensure quality in implementation · Contribute to different knowledge management products.
HR · Properly manage field staff (Outreach workers) in line with Concern Worldwide HR manual. · Ensure that staff (Outreach workers) are aware of Concern HR policies and procedures and they adhere to those policies and procedures. · Provide regular technical support and coach field staff (Outreach workers) to build their capacity to perform their assigned roles and responsibilities effectively. · Strive to create a favourable working environment and ensure that good team spirit is created and developed among staff members. · Regularly assess staff health, safety and security issues, provide briefing to staff and report any issues to line manager. · Prepare and review PDR for staff (Outreach workers) regularly as per Concern Worldwide HR manual. · Prepare monthly time sheet for self and outreach workers and submit to Line manager. · Ensure that the field staffs fill leave form before they provided any kind of leave. · Inform line manager with formal written E-mail or letter the absence of field staffs within three days of absence. · Ensure that the field staff has submitted sick leave to HR department within two days of the treatment follow-up.
Mainstreaming · Design and implement appropriate methods/ways to mainstream all cross cutting issues like accountability, gender, inequality, HIV/AIDS, and DRR in line with Concern Worldwide guidelines. · Liaise to ensure that all cross cutting issues are mainstreamed in the program. · Be aware of and use gender sensitive and participatory methodologies in the implementation of all programme activities and dealings with the programme team.
Safety and Security · Respect the Ethiopia Standard Operating Procedures and ensure the safety and security of staff (Outreach workers) working under her/his supervision in line with the Security Management plan (SMP) and Safety First guidelines.
