Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Work closely with the National Database and Information Management Officer to assist the regular development and dissemination of displacement dashboard, maps, site profiles and displacement severity and risk profiling, on the basis of the findings of population tracking exercises.
Work closely with the National Database and Information Management Officer and Senior FM-IM to assist the regular development and dissemination of flow monitoring dashboards by proving input maps showing inflows and outflows with moving population caseloads and other information products.
Provide input to the production of ETT monthly report through providing maps, and if needed a map for weekly report by developing GIS database for mapping purpose.
Develop strong links with other GIS staff in the humanitarian community to promote coordination and information-sharing between organizations.
Identify and liaise with information providers on spatial data issues, spatial analysis and maintain relative partnerships orientated at maintaining geographic databases and datasets including Common Operational Datasets (COD).
Upon request, conduct field visits to IDPs sites including protracted and new IDP caseloads to collect and update spatial and tabular data and to capture new events on rapidly changing internal displacement dynamics.
Produce input maps for the national dashboard, regional reports, and access to service maps for DTM-MT based on the findings of the displacement tracking matrix that are used as part of the regional reports (in the form of Annexes) and other DTM-MT tracking maps as required for the unit in general.
Develop other demand driven maps on ad hock basis for the Unit (Emergency and Post Crises) and other units of IOM as required.
Ensure all data are kept safe and confidential through applying IOM’s data protection principles.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualification
Professional Experience
A minimum of Five years experience for candidates holding University Degree and one year for advanced degree holders in related field, preferably in geographic information systems, preferably with international organizations or national authorities.
Knowledge of current GIS software (ArcInfo)
Knowledge of database development and maintenance of GIS systems.
Knowledge of Excel.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
