SNV, Netherlands Development Organization, is Dutch based, non for profit foreign charity operating in Ethiopia since the 1970s. Currently SNV is working in the eight+ regional states of Ethiopia which includes– Addis Ababa, Afar, Somali, Gambella, Benishangul, SNNPR, Oromia, Amhara and Tigray regional states, providing technical assistantce and program implmenetaiton in the major 3 sectors including Agriculture, WASH and Energy. SNV is an open and learning organization focusses on improving the lives of Ethiopian Need people through best practices in value chain, market and youth and geneder. Through its work in the three sectors, SNV in Ethiopia supports the development of number of value chains and commodities to improve the Livelihoods. This takes a value chain and market development approach, with special focus on improving access to sustainable markets for smallholder farmers, youths, urban development and by developing business-to-business relations and improving business development services.

National Biogas Programme of Ethiopia (NBPE) has been under implementation since 2009 in 4 large regional states of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR and Tigray, funded by DGIS through the Africa Biogas Partnership Programme (ABPP). The Government of Ethiopia also provides funding in it phase II for the investment incentive (subsidy) for end-users. NBPE Phase II will run until March 2019. Hivos is the fund manager and SNV provides technical assistance.
SNV Ethiopia is looking for dynamic, experienced, talented, energetic, flexible, open and ready to learn candidates for a Technical Expert – Implementation Support position for its operation.
The successful appointee will have access to start-up resources and some ongoing support, and will be encouraged to apply for his/her own skills, knowledge and experience. This position is fully responsible for the overall implementation support responsibility, particularly in 2 new programme regions (Benishangul-Gumuz and Somali). S/he also supports other clusters as and when needed. S/he works under the supervision of Senior Expert – Implementation Support.
Applicants should possess qualifications and requirements in relevant disciplines, Have at least master’s or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, energy or another relevant technical discipline. Have a minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience for master’s degree, or a minimum of 10 years relevant experience for bachelor’s degree. Posess a hands-on work experience in rural, renewable or alternative energy sector, preferably in a bio-digester programme implementation or advisory service in areas like quality management and capacity development.
