CCM (ComitatoCollaborazioneMedica) is an Italian NGO operating in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda, specialized in health-related projects’ implementation, either in humanitarian and development contexts.
CCM has conducted several interventions in Ethiopia since 1982. CCM is present in different areas of the country: it is carrying out interventions in Amhara, in Tigray, Somali Region, in Oromia and Addis Ababa. From a long-term perspective, the organization's projects are focused on strength the local capacities supporting the national health system to implement the health policies and strategies and promote health at community level. CCM projects adopt an approach based “on continuity of care” and they are focused in particular on sexual and reproductive health, maternal, neonatal, child, adolescent health and one-health. In relation to the current project: “An integrated approach to improve living conditions and strengthen the resilience of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities affected by drought in the Somali Regional State”.
The General objective is to contribute to the improvement of life conditions of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities in the Somali Region, relieving the effects of drought.
Especially, increase the resilience of the communities in Liben Zone through a multidisciplinary, integrated approach for the health and welfare of shepherds, livestock and environment.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Supports the Project Coordinator in the implementation of the one health project activities; supporting the overall implementation of the project(s) and related actions, ensuring the coordination and the compatibility of the action with the other CCM project activities (and its partners), all of them under the One Health Approach.
