Amref Health Africa, the largest African led international organization on the continent, provides training and health services to over 30 countries in Africa. Founded in 1957 as the Flying Doctors of East Africa to bring critical health services to remote communities, Amref Health Africa now delivers preventative, community-based health care. With a focus on women and children, Amref Health Africa manages a full range of medical and public health programs tackling the most critical health challenges facing country focusing on three key programmatic areas: Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (RMNCH); Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Communicable and Non-communicable Diseases. Gender and human resources for health are crosscutting, reflected throughout the organization’s health portfolio. Our organization also engages in clinical outreach interventions and emergency programs including nutrition and resilience building of affected the continent: maternal and child care, HIV & TB, malaria, clean water and sanitation and surgical and clinical outreach.
A’ago Project - Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health Outcomes of Afar Young People – a four years project (Sep 2017 – Aug 2021) in Afar region. The project funded by Embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands. The project aims to contribute to increase demand for SRHR information, access to and quality of SRHR service. The project has been working to improve the demand and quality for integrated RMNCH services in targeted communities and health facilities in collaboration with regional health bureaus, Woreda health office, non-governmental organizations and community members at large.
In A’ago project those aforementioned underling factors and elements of challenges has to be present throughout all paths and at multiple levels including the individual, family, community and institutional levels in order to shift traditionally held beliefs and behaviour (both at the individual and collective level) that inhibit meaningful youth participation.
In order to ensure health facility delivery, the government encourages pregnant women living in rural areas to stay in maternity rooms at health centres a few weeks before they give birth. This provides a unique opportunity to reach pregnant women with specific messages around health. Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia would like to provide the health centres with the tools to reach pregnant women staying in these facilities with effective messages on new-born and child health, as well as their own health.
Objective of the Assignment
Increasing their access to satisfactory sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care services of good quality. Promoting sexual education. Increasing their knowledge of and demand for available SRH services. Therefore, Amref would like to develop short videos for maternity waiting rooms at health centre and for Youth friendly service centre based on the following information provided.
Target Audiences

· Pregnant women who are in their last trimesters (living in Afar region)

· Adolescent and youth family/caretakers/guardians
· Health Extension Workers
Ø Bidders should be legally registered with renewed business license and TIN, or registration certificates from proper government authorities
Ø Bidders should have a minimum of three years relevant experience after establishment
Ø Experience with social behavior change communication message development and productions is an advantage
Ø Financial & technical proposals should be submitted in separate sealed envelopes to Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia Addis Ababa office with sealed documents before the deadline. Any submissions after the closing deadline will be rejected
