BRIDGE, Building Rural Income through Inclusive Dairy Business Growth in Ethiopia, is a five-year dairy development project (2018-2023), implemented by SNV Ethiopia in partnership with Wageningen University-Livestock Research.
The impact of the project is to contribute to an “improved performance in the dairy sector in Ethiopia”, for 120,000 farming households, with four main outcomes: (1) Improved milk production, (2) Improved milk collection, processing, and marketing, (3) Improved consumption of nutritious foods, and (4) Improved enabling environment. The project will work in 4 regional states: Oromia, Amhara, SNNP and Tigray.
SNV Ethiopia is looking for dynamic, experienced, talented, energetic, flexible, open and ready to learn candidates for Regional Nutrition and Gender advisor positions for its growing program and the Building Rural Income through Inclusive Dairy Business Growth in Ethiopia (BRIDGE) project in the following duty basis: Addis Ababa(Oromia-Assela and Fitchie CLusters); BahirDar (Amhara Cluster Team); Hawassa (Shashemene-Hawassa CLuster and Mekele (Tigray Cluster).
The person
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and requirements
EDUCATION
· B.A or M.Sc. Degree in public health, Human nutrition and/or Gender studies, agriculture extension or related areas
EXPERIENCE
· At least a minimum of 7 years of experience for B.A and 5years of experience for M.Sc. or MPH in projects with a focus on coordinating and managing nutrition in agriculture projects.
· Good understanding of technical issues regarding nutrition, community-based SBCC development and roll out strategies with a very good understanding of social and gender issues in agriculture.
