FAWE (Forum for African Women Educationalists) is a non-governmental organization operating in 33 African countries with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. FAWE was created in 1992 with the purpose to promote education for girls and young women who had been excluded from the education system.
The FAWE Ethiopia Chapter, one of FAWE national chapters, started in 1994, and its mission is to promote gender equity and equality in education in Ethiopia by fostering positive policies, practices and attitudes towards girls’ education in collaboration with MoE. Since its inception, the chapter has keenly participated in promoting girls’ education in Ethiopia from the national to the community level.
Fawe Ethiopia Chapter would like to announce for the following vacancies for the Master Card Foundation (MCF) project.
Position : Program Accountant
The position holder is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, controlling, fixing, reporting, proposing alternatives to facilitate decision on general accounting, finance, payroll, inventory, cash management (collection and disbursement), stakeholders report, budgeting, bank, petty cash and coupon reconciliations functions for one or more different projects or programs to achieve predetermined , objectives and goals of the organization through its strategic planning in consultation with the immediate supervisor, relevant program person and functionally with Finance and HR Manager.
Job Requirement
Education : BA Degree in Accounting
Experience: At least 4 years’ experience in similar position
Skill :
Ability to plan and related activities
Ability to make statistical analysis;
Ability to use various computer software;
Ability to communicate information selectively and properly;
Ability to reconciles payments against finical documents ;
Ability to meet deadlines and remind funds to be disburdened timely;
Ability to sort, handle and care sensitive financial matters;
Ability to use appropriate computer programme for handling financial tasks; and
Ability in analysing and utilizing financial ratios as appropriate.
Type of employment : One year with possible extension based on performance.
