The Protestant Agency for Diakonia and Development (PADD)/Bread for the World (BftW) is an international development agency owned by the Protestant Churches in Germany based in Berlin. One of its regional office is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia registered as an international NGO with the Agency of Civil Societies Organizations. PADD works through a great variety of faith based and secular civil society partners around the world whom they share similar values. The Horn of Africa Regional Office works with partners in Ethiopian, Eritrea, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan. The main thematic areas of PADD are: (1) food security and agriculture, (2) rural development, (3) essential resources/ecological dimension of sustainable development, (4) civil society support, (5) basic social service and (6) conflict management and peace building.
