ROLE PURPOSE:
The primary function of the Senior Finance Coordinator is to ensure Ethiopia Country Office compliance with Save the Children’s accounting policy, donor requirements and generally accepted accounting principles through the development and supervision of CO financial policies and procedures, ensuring that accurate, complete and reliable financial information is maintained in the CO financial system, and ensuring an effective and efficient control of CO assets and cash flow to minimise receivables and currency revaluation losses etc. and providing on time accurate and meaningful reports to stakeholders. The position holder will be the 2nd senior finance person in the accounting unit and in absence of the head of the unit, he/she will be delegated to act as unit head.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Senior Country Finance Manager
Dimensions: Save the Children works in - regions in Ethiopia with a current staff complement of approximately 1,560 staff and current expenditure of approximately $100+ million each year.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
· Analysing risks which emanates from outstanding payables and receivables and flagging up to the management
· Assisting in developing templates and preparing schedules and aging analysis that accommodate all necessary information needed for the accounts in a way it shows which transactions need following up.
· Provides ad-hoc financial management information and analysis from the system for the use of management and BHs as required.
· Work on Country office action plan to address all recommendations provided by Global assurance auditors, statutory audits and awards specific donor audits within the prescribed timeframes.

· Minimum BA degree in accounting or equivalent/related field of study
