Job Purpose Summary:
The overall objective of organizing Self-Help groups & providing trainings is to enable the youth become agents of change by enhancing their saving skills and creating conditions and opportunities to generate their own livelihoods through micro–credit linkage with the existing micro enterprise institutions in the area. The consultant should have a TOT certification on SHG approach and CLA concept with demonstrated experience of working with vulnerable and marginalized groups.
In addition, the consultant is expected to provide Cluster Level Association training to already established SHG groups on CLA objectives and activities that are different from those of the SHG.
Time frame for the consultancy is 20 days, this will include: Interaction with the project team, beneficiaries, key stakeholders and report writing on the output of the training based on the per/post assessments and other relevant methodology used for this training. The expected start date of the work is beginning of August 2019 and the final report will be produced by end of August 2019.

Expected Output of SHG concept and Book Keeping training (18 days)
In order to achieve the project objectives, the organization seeks a consultants to conduct Self Help Group Approach training for the target groups which comprises of refugees in Melkadida camp and host communities in Dollo Ado.
At the end of the SHG concept approach and Book Keeping training, it is expected that 16 SHGs (which comprises of 210 youths)from two refugee camps and Dollo Ado town, are able to have a general awareness and detailed understanding of the SHG approach and Book Keeping in the entire refugee camp and Dollo Ado host community, also in addition to enhancing youths capacity to unleash their potential and enable them to engage in income generating activities and potential business by creating sustainable livelihood in their locality. Subsequent to completion of the training, project participants will have understanding of:

§ The consultant should have SHG & CLA TOT certification
§ The Consultant should have appropriate postgraduate qualification in Social Science (Economics, Marketing, Business Administration and related discipline) with a minimum of 7 years of related experience;
§ A multi-disciplinary consultant(s) with experience covering the key objective area of this action, increase access to resources for women with a focus on improving livelihood, exploring the existing country trade and youth economic empowerment framework and opportunities, and working in empowering women is recommended for this training.
§ Fluent in written and spoken English, with excellent ability to write reports in English and preferably fluency in Somali language.
NB: The eligible team consultant should prepare and submit detail technical and financial proposals with separate sealed envelope. The technical proposal should contain background of the consultant, proven successful performance (past track record), i.e. recommendation letters and engagements in similar activities, and required certificate, CV, program schedule of the activities within the time allotted for the task.
