ABH Services PLC is recruiting data collectors for an upcoming research study in Dire Dawa. Interested applicants will need to be fully available from mid-August through mid-November, 2019. This is a full-time position and will require relocation to Dire Dawa for the duration of the study. Applicants must be trained and certified to provide labor, delivery and postnatal care, and speak Amharic, English and either Somali or Oromiffa
Study Overview
The overall objective of the study is to investigate maternity care pathways, women’s experience with and quality of maternity care, continuity and utilization of maternal and child health services in the postnatal period, and women’s preferences for current and future service delivery and confidence in care in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia.
Delivery Observation Data Collector Role
Delivery observation data collectors will be placed in study health facilities 24-hours a day (on a rotating schedule with 8-hour shifts) and will be trained to implement an observation checklist to be completed during every eligible delivery and in the immediate postnatal period. Data collectors will not be providing any clinical care during the study period – they are serving only as data collectors.
Data collectors must NOT be a current care provider in any health facility in Dire Dawa, or have provided care in Dire Dawa in the last 6 months. Staff currently working in the Dire Dawa regional health bureau are NOT eligible to apply.
