Background
Under the overall supervision of the Emergency Post-Crisis Coordinator and under the direct supervision of the RRF Program Manager the successful candidate will work closely with the RRF team to support the Rapid Response Fund (RRF) Unit in matters relating to monitoring and evaluation of implementing partners in Ethiopia. In particular, he/she will:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
a) Provide specialized technical assistance to Protection Implementing Partners to assure that projects meet international Child Protection, Psychosocial, Gender Based Violence Guidelines and SPHERE Standards.
b) Conduct regular site visits to monitor Protection projects are progressing as reported and as per the agreed narrative, indicators and work plan.
c) Visit potential Protection Implementing Partners to participate in the evaluation of their financial tracking and reporting mechanisms according to the project’s checklists as well as their ability to carry out project activities before grants are awarded.
d) Prepare regular monitoring reports on Protection sub-grantee activities and achievements to feed into both IOMs internal and external situation report.
e) Keep track and provide reports on any challenges and delays by implementing partners in the field
f) Attend Protection Cluster and Sub-Cluster meetings
g) Facilitate photo and video documentation of active projects for improved reporting and visibility
h) Ensure all projects have sufficient donor visibility and adhere to USAID logo policy
i) Accompany the RRF Program Manager, donor and/or other interested visitors to project sites, providing inputs on progress and overall context.
j) When required, assist in reviewing the Protection sub-grantees submitted weekly and narrative reports, and provide the RRF manager with detailed feedback that will directly affect the approval of partner interim and final reports.
k) Follow up visit to project sites at established intervals after project completion to assess/measure degree of impact as determined by the RRF Program Manager
l) Undertake any further duties as may be assigned by the RRF Program Manager
