The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations in collaboration with the Ethiopian government. AHRI is under the Ministry of Health and the major fund is got from the Ethiopia government. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.

Key Duties and responsibilities
· To contribute to the effective running of the progress, providing financial and administrative support under the direction and guidance of the finance and procurement Director
· To develop the capacity of all appropriate staff in financial management and sound procurement.
· Prepare donor reports and ensure they are consistent with underlying budget assumptions.
· To maintain effective financial administration systems in order to provide an efficient support service to all budget holders in AHRI and to offer advice to budget holders to ensure that the program achieves best value at all times;
· To prepare year-end financial statements required for internal and external audit.
· Implements best practices in procurement and supplier management to support the institute operational objectives.
· Support the plan and finance and procurement directorate on regular reporting of the institute fund;
· Develop and coordinate annual procurement plans in collaboration with directorates and senior procurement team
· Coordinate with the directorate’s team and other key staff to determine their financial reports and procurement needs.
· Technical guidance and support in preparing for and managing donor audits including liaison with auditors and negotiating contested findings where appropriate.
· Manage and monitor donor contributions, including review of agreements and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations and established policies and procedures;
· Monitor the institute’s financial activities based on the internal guideline and government policy
· To maintain effective financial administration systems in order to provide an efficient support service to all budget holders in AHRI and to offer advice to budget holders to ensure that the program achieves best value at all times;
· MA Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business studies & minimum 8 years of relevant experience
· BA Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business studies & minimum 10 years of relevant experience
