BACKGROUND
Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Our mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives, which last and spread without ongoing support from Concern. To achieve this mission we engage in long-term development work, build resilience, respond to emergencies and seek to address the root causes of poverty through our development education and advocacy work.
Concern Worldwide Ethiopia has been implementing a project titled ‘‘Job Creation for Potential Migrants in Addis Ababa’’ in collaboration with People in Need /PIN/, Volontariato Internazionale Per Lo Sviluppo /VIS/ and Organization for Child Development and Transformation /CHADET/, and. An agreement made with Addis Ababa City Administration six sectorial bureaus to implement this project in four sub-cities (i.e., Addis Ketema, Arada, Kirkos and Yeka). The project is part of Stemming Irregular Migration in Northern and Central Ethiopia (SINCE) Programme, which is funded by the European Union Trust Fund for Africa and is coordinated by the Embassy of Italy in Ethiopia.
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the reduction of irregular migration from Northern and Central Ethiopia by improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable population, including potential migrants, returnees and refugees with specific focus on youth and women.
PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
Concern Worldwide has planned to provide tailored training on technical (employability skill), psychosocial gender and decent work to project beneficiaries and other stakeholders. The overall objective of this training is to facilitate the technical (employability skill) and psychosocial readiness of our target beneficiaries (potential migrants and returnees), so as, to increase their chance to be employed by private companies after securing their CoC certification and completion of apprenticeships.
QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCES
Concern Worldwide (CWW) seeks to recruit a competent firm or individual/s consultant/trainers with extensive experience to undertake training on technical (employability skill) and psychosocial. The consultant needs to demonstrate knowledge and experience undertaking similar studies.
