The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.
The Role and responsibilities
· He/she shall be based fully at selected health facilities/study sites (Metema Yohannes, Amhara region; Tankuwa Abergele, Tigray region; Arba Minch, SNNP and Bambasi, Benshangul Gumuz)
· He/She shall perform a coordination and supervision activities; in case needed she/he could do recruitment i.e routine clinical evaluation, screening, consenting and enrollment of potential study participants.
Personal Specification: Qualification, Experiences and Essential Skills
- BSc degree in Nursing or Health Officer from an accredited institution with minimum cGPA of 3.00 for Male & 2.75 for Females; you should mentioned your cGPA in your CV is required.
- Training in programmatic and clinical management of Malaria
- Experience in research coordination and management
- Tolerance to doing routine tasks in a health facility level
- Strong coordination and organizational skills
- Attention to details for quality data record and documentation
- Ability to maintain study confidentiality
- Training in GCP/GCLP and quality control/assurance (preferred)
- Experience in nursing/health officer (preferred)

- Strong organizational skills; volunteer to work off-working hours and/or weekends

Principal Responsibilities:
- Conduct supervision on overall activities
- Conduct daily check for completeness of CRFs, logbooks and other documents
- Ensure eligibility criteria for proper enrollment of study participants
- Involve in recruitment and other duties as deemed necessary
