Section 1- Background

Section 2 - Overview of the project
The Growing Nutrition for Mothers and Children (GROW) funded by Global Affairs Canada CARE is implementing a four and half year nutrition project in Oromia and Afar regions of Ethiopia running from January 2016 and March 2020. Growing Nutrition for Mothers and Children (GROW) is led and implemented by CARE and includes implementing partners such as McGill University, Cardiff University, Cuso International, and the Government of Ethiopia (Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Women’s Affairs, and Mines, Water and Irrigation). It is directly targeting 188958 direct participants and 825218 indirect participants over the five years’ period. The overall objective of this consultancy is to undertake end term quantitative and qualitative evaluation for GROW project.
Section 3 - Purpose and Scope of the consultancy
Growing Nutrition for Mothers and Children (GROW) is seeking a consulting firm to work together with a principal investigator (PI), who is a CARE Canada staff. The PI will manage the national consultant to conduct the end line study in Ethiopia and oversee National Consultant who will be involved in day to day activities of the evaluation.
Section 4 - Skills and qualifications
For this consultancy, the firm must have:
· PhD /MSc level candidate,
· Expertise on quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
· Sound knowledge and practical experience in fields of social sciences and nutrition
· Proven ability to manage large teams of enumerators
· Track record of conducting interviews and facilitating focus groups
· Experience with using digital data collection for similar surveys, Experience designing databases, performing data entry and data analysis,
· Practical experience of using statistical method like EPI info, CSPro, and/or SPSS
· Proficiency in the local language which is Amharic and Oromiffa
· Experience in designing questionnaires and data collection using mobile technology (ODK), Ability to supervise and manage data entry for quality control,
· Desired experience with qualitative software such as Nvivo or the like
Section 5 – Eligibility Criteria
Having relevant and renewed business license for this particular category is a minimum eligibility criteria to participate in the bid.
