Currently SNV Ethiopia is working in the eight+ regional states of Ethiopia which includes– Addis Ababa, Afar, Somali, Gambella, Benishangul, SNNPR, Oromia, Amhara and Tigray regional states, providing technical assistance and program implementation in the major 3 sectors including Agriculture, WASH and Energy. SNV is an open and learning organization focuses on improving the lives of Ethiopian Need people through best practices in the value chain, market, and youth and gender. Through its work in agriculture, SNV in Ethiopia supports the development of number of value chains such as milk and milk products, honey and beeswax, oilseeds and edible oil, fruit and pulses, livestock and horticulture. This takes a value chain development approach, with special focus on improving access to sustainable markets for smallholder farmers and by developing business-to-business relations and improving business development services.

BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT
SNV Ethiopia designed RISE (Refugee Integration and Self Reliance Project in Ethiopia) in response to the call made by Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to create employment opportunities for refugees and host communities, thus ensuring workplace protection and social integration. It is designed in alignment with, the Jobs Compact which aims to expand the industrialization agenda of the Ethiopian government while creating jobs for both Ethiopian citizens and refugees.
RISE project spanned its pilot from January – September 2019 in closely working with private sector and Government of Ethiopia – ARRA (Agency for Refugee and Returnees Affairs).
The final Evaluation is an important part of our work. The last project date falls on September 30th, 2019 and SNV would like to measure the success of RISE project in order to document, share important lessons and good practices by involving our refugees actively in the process of feedback and reflection.
OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
SNV seeks to understand the impact of job creation for refugees and the best practice gained from its inclusive model in support of refugees and host communities.
