As a registered charity, founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger operates in 45+ countries. The international network of Action Against Hunger is represented in France, United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, USA and India. Teams in the field combat hunger on 4 fronts: Nutrition and Health, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Water, Sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and Mental Health and Care Practices (MHCP).
We are currently looking for:
Program Manager - Mental Health, Child Care Gender & Protection
This is an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager with humanitarian experience and a background in maternal mental health, Child Care Practices, Gender or Protection to support our team in Wollega, Oromia.
We are looking preferably for a female program manager who speaks Oromiffa and English, has a qualification in psychology, project management, medical, nursing or sociology (or similar) and able to manage a small team of mainly female psychosocial workers working in the community with mothers and children in our health and nutrition services.
You will be based in Gimbi, Wollega and support your field team working in the different woredas we support. Action Against Hunger is especially sensitive to the needs of women and strive to support and assist in helpful ways to improve the working environment with particular focus on safety, security and well-being.
This position has become available due to staff promotion and you will receive comprehensive on-going support and a comprehensive induction. While the initial contract is 6 months, this will be extended based on continued donor funding and performance.
