Employee Position Summary
The SPD & GM will work to identify and track donor opportunities, facilitate donor engagement, assist in the development of fundraising strategies and coordinate, facilitate, lead and play significant role in writing up high quality winning proposals for large and strategic funding opportunities.
The position requires innovative thinking and creativity to package our program strategies in ways that attract the right donor support and grow out our portfolio. He/she will be responsible to pull together the inputs of different individuals and come up with coherent, analytical and logically sound proposal documents that meet both the donors and IMC’s requirements. Thus, the position will be expected to be closely informed about the progress of all major institutional awards and able to speak to results in proposal documents and concept notes.
S/He will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with field travel to the IMC program sites to respond to field needs, conduct assessments for program expansion both in emergency response and in responding to development.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTBILITY
Donor research and relationship building
Proposal development
Documentation and learning
· Develop capacity statements on IMC’s experience in specific sectors and sub-sectors to support positioning for future funding
· Closely work with MEAL team to capture and document learning from ongoing projects to be applied to project design
· Ensure that all documents are properly filed within the award management system and Country Mission 365 office shared drives.
· Ensure that data is accessible to review draft proposals and prepare SMT presentation for proposals with enough lead-time submission.
· Prepare presentations at GOM including all lessons learned during proposal development stage and donor compliances are shared
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant government (ChSA), member and donor guidelines and ensure their compliance in proposal development
Staff Management, Mentorship and Development
· Oversee Program Development Specialists to develop high quality and innovative proposals
· Coach Program Development Specialists to write competitive and compliant commercial and technical proposals
· Support the Director of Program in overall program implementation and field operation management
· Manage the performance of the program development specialist and Compliance/Grant Manager
· Ensure the recruitment, training and promotion of staff as appropriate and ensure the availability of appropriate professional development opportunities of staff
Compliance and Grant Reporting
· Ensure Government, Donor and IMC compliances in Grant Management is respected
· Initiate capacity building training for relevant staff on required Government, Donor and IMC compliances
· Ensure timely and quality donor and government reporting
· Oversee Communication Reporting and Grants Manager to develop quality report and ,ensure donor and government communication requirements are followed
