BACKGROUND: CHAI Ethiopia carries out a wide range of programs to support the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia in improving the health status of the Ethiopian people, by ensuring access to and quality of health services. We are committed to increasing our effectiveness through an innovative programming approach that optimizes quality, impact and scale. Being the largest CHAI field office worldwide, we currently employ over 170 staff working in the following 9 programs: HIV, Cancer, Laboratory Services, Vaccine, MNCH, Child survival, Health Financing and Human Resource for Health (HRH) and Woreda Transformation.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision and guidance of CHAI Ethiopia vaccine program, the consultant will conduct Effective vaccine management (EVM) assessment in project, zones, woreda and health facilities. Specifically, the consultant will,
• Conduct EVM assessment (post implementation) on vaccine management using standard EVM tool
• Conduct vaccine stock management assessment at hubs, woreda and health facilities using prepared checklist
• Conduct assessment on temperature monitoring for action and cold chain plan preparation and implementation of preventive maintenance
• The consultants are expected to send regular (daily and weekly) updates using the standard formats.
• The consultant compiles, submits and presents final activity report of the assessments conducted before the end of contract agreement.
Perform any other activities, as neededLocation of the assessment: Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, Diredawa, Harar, Somali, SNNPR, Afar, Benishangul Gumuz and Gambella, including EPSA hubs
Duration of the Contract: 30 days
Deliverable
• Completed and cleaned checklists of EVM assessment,
• Completed excel database of EVM tool,
• Completed checklist of vaccine stock management hard copy and soft copy (excel based)
• Completed checklists of temperature monitoring for action , cold chain plan and implementation of preventive maintenance
• Final Summary report of the activities as per the formats provided.
Requirement
1. Minimum Educational Qualifications:
• At least university degree in health, or related field
• Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and sub-national levels in Child health and EPI program planning, management, monitoring and evaluation
• Work Experience on cold chain and Vaccine Management systems,
• Experience in Effective vaccine management assessment is Mandatory.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Power point and Excel

• Report writing skill is essential
Reporting
• Daily update by phone to the central coordinator
• Regular Reporting (weekly update by e-mail)
• Final summary report at the end of month in hard copy and soft copy
