The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Communication Officer III is being accountable to the Public Relation Director; and performs various communication activities of the institutes past, current and future events using various types of communication system for the institutes effective communication; and perform day to day and other related activities.
· To prepare article for the effectiveness institutes communication strategies
· Prepare and disseminate of current and accurate institutional information and data for different types of audiences.
· Organize the institute communication system
· Organize the institutes stakeholder’s opinion through stakeholders meeting
· Perform media monitoring on all media outlets related to the institutes
· Perform related duties assigned by the PR Directorate.
Education: BA in Journalism & Communication, Political Science & International Relation, Federalism, Language & Literature, Public Relation & Communication or related field of study
Experience: 4 years of experience in journalism & communication
