ROLE PURPOSE:
The child protection project Manager will lead the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Mainstreaming Socio Emotional Learning/SEL and Parenting Skills Education project activities. The manager will coordinate SCI project team to ensure proper and timely delivery of activities, and will provide progress updates on monthly, quarterly and annual basis. The project manager will also engage in budget management.
In collaboration with SCI PDQ; Unicef and its implementing partners, the project manager will oversee and support review and contextualization of SEL for children and their respective parents; roll out of the packages to 180 trainees per package, including frontline facilitators and supervisors; on-job coaching to frontline facilitators to ensure quality and fidelity of implementation; and facilitate project evaluation in Oromia, Somali, and SNNP Regions. She/he will organize project teams for regular meetings to assess progress on monthly and quarterly basis. She/he will develop project progress reports as per the donor requirement as well as whenever needed by the hub, country office or the donor, to keep the donor informed on implementation progress.
She/he will closely work with Bureaus of Women, Children and Youth Affairs in Oromia, Somali, and Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s (SNNP) Regional States; and relevant Zonal and District Bureaus; UNICEF Implementing Partners in Oromia, Somali and Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s (SNNP) Regional States and UNHCR (Protection Cluster Coordinator), UNFPA (GBV Area of Responsibility co-lead) in order to develop and rollout a validated SEL and Parenting Skills Education that can be utilized in humanitarian contexts in Ethiopia. The project manager will represent SCI at external forums/meetings as required..
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Programme management
· Ensures the quality, relevance and integrated nature of the project.
Monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance
· Monitor and systematically document project results;
· Assist and facilitate regularly scheduled reviews of projects with project team, government and/or non-government partners and stakeholders;
Stakeholders and partner management
· Foster collaboration among government and non-government stakeholders;
· Liaise with and creates conducive working relationship between SCI and key project stakeholders at national, and regional
· Conduct regular monitoring visits of the project and prepare reports for documentation and follow-up actions;
· Closely work with stakeholders in the preparation of periodic and project completion reports;
Other
· Collaborate with Immediate Supervisor and PDQ CP team to ensure proper documentation of experiences and lessons learned from projects under supervision;
· Performs other related activities as assigned by immediate supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Ability and willingness to travel to field sites and work in remote locations, often for prolonged periods of time
