Back ground of the organization: Youth Network for Sustainable Development (YNSD) is a non-governmental, non-profit making indigenous youth-led and focused organization which was founded in 2003 by four school clubs and fifteen youth associations with the vision to see Ethiopian youth holistically empowered and meaningfully engaged in sustainable development. YNSD is an umbrella network of 160+ youth organizations/associations operating at the national level. It’s major program areas are Youth and Women Empowerment; Information and Communication Technology (ICT); Health and HIV and AIDS and Environment specifically focusing on climate change; advocacy work involving the promotion of good governance and advancement of human rights; water sanitation and hygiene; and new emerging issues, such as youth unemployment, illegal youth migration, etc.
Currently, YNSD has been implementing various projects in the area of Adolescent Youth Sexual Reproductive Health with funds secured from various grants from donors such as the David and Lucie Packard foundation through the Youth challenge initiative (YCI) project, Embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands through the GUSO (Get up Speak out) project and Amplifychange through the Able Generation for Empowerment (AGE) project.
The major role of the organization is to develop capacities of member organizations by providing technical, financial and material support. As part of its major activities, YNSD plans to organize a five day capacity building training on SRH programming and financial planning for its member organizations and internal staffs. Thus, YNDS is looking for a consultant capable of running this training.
