Organization Overview
Simprints is working at the exciting interface of biometrics, technology, and international development where our product is used to radically increase transparency and effectiveness, making sure that every vaccine, every dollar, every public good reaches its intended recipient. Working with mentors from top companies like Google, Microsoft, and ARM, and with the support of some of the world’s biggest development funders, we apply modern technology to tackle some of the world’s oldest problems.
Role description:
With support from Simprints, the Ethiopian Ministry of Health (MoH) is looking for a DevOps engineer to support the Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS) project, the MoH’s flagship initiative to modernize and digitize the health system of Ethiopia. eCHIS is primarily a mobile application that is built for rural health workers to deliver tailored services to families and therefore improve health outcomes. It incorporates biometric technology to ensure that appropriate services are delivered to the right people at the right time, minimizing waste and waiting time, while improving continuity of care. Working in this project, you will have the opportunity to leave your fingerprint in an application that will have a direct impact on the lives of millions of rural Ethiopians.
You will be joining a tight-knit team of 8 developers, DevOps Engineers, and domain experts (system analysts). We work together very closely, with mutual understanding and providing support to each other. This role benefits from free gym access at the MoH premises and, if interested, will also have the opportunity to participate in field-based activities to better understand existing paper-based workflows and community health systems serving Ethiopia’s most vulnerable citizens.
