The position holder shall be in charge of technical and operational quality implementation and delivery of the COVID-19 rapid response in the assigned Woreda.
She/he will mainly be responsible for the day to day implementation of risk communication and community engagement, Infection Prevention and control, Surveillance and COVID-19 case management activities, as per the national SOPs, guidelines and international standards. In addition, the position holder is also expected to provide supervision, technical assistance/mentoring and capacity building to health extension workers, health facilities supportive staff and Health workers in health facilities. She/he will be responsible for the daily implementation of health sub sector indicators as per the standard. He will also be responsible for day to day documentation, reporting, triage management, COVID-19 suspected cases screening, safe isolation and referral arrangements..
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Working in partnership with health facilities and woreda health office for the implementation of the emergency response.
· Strengthening of linkages and coordination mechanisms between community and the Woreda health bureaus, PHEOCs.
· Strengthening of early and safe COVID-19 suspected cases referrals mechanism.
· Plan and implement the response in accordance to updated national and WHO protocol to IMC emergency management quality standard to achieve objectives of the project.
· Facilitate, train and support the HEWs on infection prevention and control, and risk communication, community engagement through online in respect to the national guidelines and directions.
· Support HEWs to train and support community-based volunteer health workers, regional leaders and volunteers for strengthening community engagement and enhance communication.
· Ensure at all times that personal protective equipment’s are rationally and properly utilized, documented and reported using stock tracking sheet for possible action or correction.
Conduct continual intervention assessment and re-check the implementation of triage, IPC and case management up to the national and international standards.· University Degree/Diploma in Nursing/public Health with valid registration/practicing license.
· At least Four years for Diploma & Two years for degree holder post experience in the field out of which one year NGO experience in the field.
· Experienced in emergencies and health program implementation –data collection and compilation, working with counterpart for lasting intervention, training of health workers, etc.
