WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will join the MDU health systems team and be based in Addis Ababa and will work closely with the program team leads.
You'll build rapport with key staff in the Federal Ministry of Health and directorates to provide support and reinforce accountability for specific initiatives and targets.
This role is supported under the Department for International Development (DFID)-funded Sustaining and Accelerating Primary Health in Ethiopia Technical Assistance (SAPHE TA) Programme. SAPHE is a five-year Department for International Development (DFID) programme, launched in 2015 to support Ethiopia’s Health Sector Transformation Plan.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will work as DFID's focal person on Health Sector Transformation Plan 2 development and Joint Assessment of National Strategies until those activities are finalized.
You will also support the Ministry of Health on coordination of COVID-19 response while ensuring continuity of essential health services. You will support the Ministry's initiative to build resilient health systems which could combine achieving long term targets with effectively responding to any emergencies.
You will identify outlier regions/zones/ "Wordeas"in building resilient health systems and support the Ministry of Health transition it to scale.
You will collect, analyze and share data to formulate a clear image of progress towards achieving health sustainable development goals and Universal Health Coverage.
Lastly, you will identify risks to deliver results and propose recommendations to unravel problems escalating issues to leadership at the appropriate level before they become serious and assist in problem solving. In this role you will also build rapport with key staff in the Ministry to support and reinforce accountability for specific initiatives, and coach other to improve the quality of outputs and outcomes.
