Integrated Service on Health and Development Organization (ISHDO) is registered non-governmental organization. ISHDO is funded by USAID as prime under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to implement a three years Family-focused HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment activity in Oromia Region. The Activity will be implemented in partnership with other sub local implementing partners. The activity aims to accelerate and sustain HIV epidemic control in Ethiopia through the delivery of high impact Family-focused HIV prevention, care, and Treatment Activity in selected 41 woredas of Oromia regional state.
The purpose of this award is to strengthen local HIV epidemic control to achieve the goal of 95 percent of individuals living with HIV know their status, 95 percent of persons living with HIV initiated antiretroviral therapy and 95 percent of on antiretroviral therapy achieve viral load suppression by 2030. HIV mitigation services for vulnerable children will focus on case finding and linkage to HIV treatment among undiagnosed children living with HIV, on achieving better health outcomes through HIV viral load suppression and establishing interpersonal, family and community norms to achieve HIV and violence prevention (9 to 14-year-old children).
Job Summary
Under the supervision of Program Coordinator the Economic Strengthening Office will assist the Project Coordinator of ISHDO’s Family Focused HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Project funded by the USAID in ISHDO implementing 12 towns of Oromia region with supervision and management of all program activities while working together to identify issues and risks related to project implementation in a timely manner, and provide technical suggestions on Economic strengthening interventions. ES Officer will also exercising a Supportive Supervision approach, train and mentor field office staff and institutional stakeholder technical staff responsible for poverty alleviation, social protection, and livelihoods; savings and financial access; agriculture and food security; economic and market development. Build awareness of key Household Economic Strengthening (HES) concepts and principles among the project staff and institutions; contribute to policy and guideline development within collaborative working groups.
He/she will also responsible to Develop and instruct the project staff in effective methodologies for identifying appropriate HES interventions; train/mentor them in principles and standards for good implementation of these interventions; equip field level ES staff with skills and resources to assess outcomes, as well as strengths and weaknesses of HES activities; facilitate access through partner and stakeholder organizations to a full range of economic strengthening options depending on the needs and resources available to households; promote linkages and complementarities between similar donor funded projects; oversee pilot or demonstration projects to test and adopt specific HES activities; Engage in regular monitoring visits to evaluate the success of HES activities.; Supervise staff as assigned and other tasks and duties as assigned
