Marketing
Actively seek to drive business results by identifying opportunities to enhance/strengthen our marketing messaging, content and materials
Actively lead and/or participate in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for new campaigns, content, messaging and sales tools
Oversee the execution of the organization’s marketing and branding message
Support the revision and finalization of the 2013-2014 marketing strategy, including the role of partnerships and fundraising
Maintain outgoing PR and communication, including updating websites, social media, creating press releases and conducting and supporting other PR services
Sales
Identify and pursue sales of products to institutions, schools and individuals through cold calls, email, online marketing, events and networking
Consistently maintain detailed, organized records on relationships
Partnerships
Identify potential partnerships with donors, nonprofits, NGOs, government organizations and others, and develop a strategy and action plan to communicate with potential partners
Lead engagements, as a point of contact, aimed at building relationships with global and regional firms that can become partners on USAID, DFID and other donor bids, increasing win rates and improving implementation of field projects
Continue cultivating relationships with existing donors and expand grant opportunities
Develop and maintain new and current relationships and partnerships to build the funding base
Liaison with and support business development personnel and consultants
Develop formal relationships with partners, including drafting and executing Teaming Agreements, MOUs, contracts, Partnership Agreements, capacity statements, concept notes and other documents
Provide technical leadership for the design, formalization, and management of innovative partnerships
Execute and support staff in developing donor reports and ensuring regular communication with donors
Keep abreast of changes in global policy, action and spending on education, health, ICT and other relevant fields.
Fundraising
Creation and execution of a Fundraising Plan with measurable action steps for 2014 that meet income goals
Conduct research and identify new sources of funding that include partnerships but also extend beyond that realm
Stay up-to-date on current funder’s needs and match them with our campaigns and programs
Maintain comprehensive list of funders, foundations and aid-organizations that might support our effort and take part in our activities
Write updates, letters and reports to keep close contact with funders, foundations and aid-organizations

Graphic design experience and talent
Experience with USAID, DFID and other international donors, in key business areas such as education, health, gender equality and ICT in Ethiopia helpful but not required
Experience managing and developing partnerships for grants, contracts and IDIQs/IQCs
Experience in developing proposals and reports for donor agencies and corporations
Experience giving training

Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor degree in relevant field (business, commerce, communications, education, etc). Masters degree an advantage.
