SCOPE OF WORK The Associate IT Manager is responsible for the overall management of PSI/Ethiopia information, communication and technology systems (ICT) and equipment. S/he will be leading and coordinating the implementation all IT systems design, development needs and provide technical support to central and regional offices in the area of Information Technology. S/he will be responsible for compliance with PSI Information Security Policies, Procedures and Standards. Overall IT management responsibilities include assuming full responsibility for managing and supporting IT systems and equipment; maintaining infrastructure; and overseeing technical specifications for the regional offices as well.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead information communications and technology related initiatives on central and area office levels, identifying challenges, and responding quickly with appropriate solutions;
Works in a close coordination with procurement team related to Information Technology procurement and property Control. S/he is also responsible for overall IT planning and Procurement;
Developing IT Policy, Procedures and Manual and document system standards for computers, systems and network devices. Provide IT related technical assistance and trainings to project and department managers, area office teams and local implementing partners as required.
Recommend technical specifications, budget, and forecast IT requirements for the central and regional offices and analyze needs and costs of PSI/E in networking and Computer hardware, then selecting the suitable media (e.g. Laptop & Desktop PC specification, Printers, photocopier machine, Computer accessories);
Design, install and administer servers and server clusters and manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus and anti-spam;
Organize and conduct user trainings; evaluate and recommend new database technologies and identify new technologies for implementation;
Set up, maintain, and support the IT infrastructure including ISP, router, Ethernet switch, PABX and VoIP;
Upgrade, install and troubleshoot networks, networking & Computer hardware devices and software and knowing current terminology and standards used in local area networks and wide area networks;
Oversee and ensure regular and appropriate maintenance, servicing, checks and use of IT equipments servers, shared network printers, fax machine and photocopy machines;
Perform any other job related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and management of PSI/Ethiopia.
Job Requirement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree with 3 years experience or Bachelors degree with 6 years relevant experience in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related fields of study;
Experience in systems development & management and in supporting, troubleshooting Windows PCs, servers, printers and networks of similar work environment;
working knowledge of necessary software, databases and programming languages;
Strong organizational & management skills, strong communication skills and time management skills;
Demonstrated self-management and Self-starter (i.e., motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability), ability to manage several major multidimensional activities simultaneously.
Ability to handle highly confidential information;
Local IT market awareness;
Proven user training skills and Strong service consciousness;
