I. JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of the Field Project Coordinator is to manage the effective project implementation in line with donor agreement. Coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate project activities. She/he is also responsible to provide technical supports in implementing project activities.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Job Responsibility #1: Project Implementation and Technical Support Overall in charge for managing donor funded project including project field office
Plans project proposal activities and implements as approved;
Ensures that project activities are implemented in collaboration with district, zonal and regional development offices and other stakeholders;
Coordinates and monitors project implementation progress on daily basis
Organizes and coordinates meetings to discuss project progress weekly basis
Develops capacity building plans and provides support as needed;
Recommends appropriate training programs for project staff and forwards it to training unit;
Works with the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation staff to develop a monitoring and evaluation system that will enable PWO to assess the impact of interventions in the area of pastoral community development activities
In collaboration with concerned Units disseminates important information to the stakeholders to:, regional government, non-government organizations, donors, other stakeholders and the pastoral communities using appropriate media;
Ensure Disaster Risk Reduction, gender and diversity is seriously considered and truly integrated in project cycle management
Where is development of monthly action plan at the project level and also at the individual staff level??
Prepare monthly progress reports for submission to donor as per donor contract
Actively participate and contribute in various technical working group meetings on regular frequency as requested by donor
Ensure project cycle management in transparent and accountable manner
Development of project implementation guideline / approaches, action plans for each intervention, ToRs for various activities as required seeking technical support from donor and PWO HO
Job Responsibility #2: Staff Management
Manages, supervises, leads guides and supports the staff responsible to her/him; Clarify how many staff the person manages!!
Ensures the development of key leadership, and management skills of direct reports to increase their capacity to develop and undertakes major initiatives and assume larger responsibilities to further expand project impact and sustainability;
Supports the development of high performing teams at the project operational area level and ensures that appropriate procedures and policies are followed;
Completes performance planning, monitoring, and annual performance appraisals of employees directly reporting to her/him.
Facilitate individual staff plan every month and review the progress, provide feedback for improvement
Job Responsibility #3: Networking, Learning and Reporting
Establishes and maintains formal and informal communication mechanisms with member networks, government, donors and other stakeholders;
Produces Monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual performance reports to the Program Coordinator.
Establishes national and international networking for fund raising;
Participates in the development and institutionalization of fund raising strategies;
Develops a system for the sustainability of PWO projects.
Job Responsibility #4: Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirement
A) EDUCATION/TRAINING
MSc/MA or BSc, BA in Agriculture, Development Administration, Sociology or related fields.
B) EXPERIENCE:
4/6 years relevant work experience.
C) TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS
Project cycle management skills
Excellent technical skills and demonstrated experience of managing Community Based Resilience Building Projects in Somali region context
Technical skills and demonstrated experience on food security and livelihood, gender mainstreaming in Somali context
Demonstrated technical ability, sound judgment and ability to work effectively with others at all levels;
Computer proficiency;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent command over Somali language (Speaking and writing)
