GOAL is an Irish based international NGO with Programmes in Humanitarian Response, Rural Development and the street children. The Humanitarian Response Programme focus on nutrition intervention activities, working with the ministry of Health to monitor the nutrition, health and food security status with its current intervention areas in Oromiya, SNNPR and Amhara Region. The Rural Development Programme focus on health, education, nutrition, water and sanitation with cross cutting issues in gender, environment protection and HIV/AIDS, in Sidama, Borena and West Hararghe Programme Offices. Incorporated into the Rural and Urban Development Programme, the ChildSPACE Programme works with ‘of the street’ children and youth working and living on the street by focusing on the strengths of children and young people; and through partnership building, collaboration and networking with various stake holders, the programme supports diverse community structures and initiatives through approaches that are Strength, Street and Partnership and Networking focused. The ChildSPACE programme is delivered by GOAL and directly by local partners in Addis Ababa and Hawassa. Cross-cutting issues include gender, the environment, child protection and HIV/AIDS. GOAL Ethiopia utilizes a strengths based approach to all development activities.
GOAL is looking to recruit a highly motivated EU-CR2B project Manager will be responsible for managing the direct implementation and monitoring of EU-CR2B Project activities, in collaboration with the support of GOAL Borena RUDP offices and Head office senior livelihoods programme advisor and technical team. The project manager will lead and manage project officers and grassroots staff including Community Development Workers and other staffs in Dire project offices. The EU-CR2B project manager will work closely with EU-CR2B consortium partners, ACF and CISP. S/He will supervise the implementation, collaborative actions, technical support and experience sharing actions between GOAL, ACF and CISP. S/He also responsible to prepare technical and financial report monthly, quarterly and annually. Additionally S/He will be expected to contribute inputs to the development of new projects, suggest ways for improvement on future projects designing and implementation. Requirements: (Educational Qualification and Experience) Education • Minimum of MSC or BSc degree in rural development, Agricultural economics, and other related development field from a recognized university
Experience: • At least 4 years and above for MSc, or 7 years and above for BSc of relevant work experience in project management in INGO Experience in field based of programme implementation in agriculture, food security, and DRR and Community based financial inclusion are vital. Key qualities, Skills and Competences: • Demonstrable ability to encourage and motivate staff and develop team work. • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with local government organisations and NGOs. • Flexible and creative approach highly motivated and able to take the initiative and work unsupervised. • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, and knowledge of local language (Oromifa) is mandatory. • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel • Aptitude for team work and leadership • Basic understanding of food security issues and the multi-disciplinary factors affecting agricultural development • Trained and highly experienced in the use and development of a wide range of PRA skills
Desirable qualities, Skills and Competences: • Knowledge of local langue: Oromifa, • Flexible and creative approach highly motivated and able to take the initiative and work with minimum supervision
Remuneration and Benefits: • GOAL pays a monthly salary of Birr 13,701.00 (Thirteen thousand seven hundred one birr)/ month and provides benefits like: • Transportation Allowance, 10% of monthly salary • Hardship Allowance, 30% of monthly salary. • Medical Allowance, birr 6500/annum.
