Amref Health Africa (formerly African Medical Research Foundation) is the premier African-led international health development organization headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. Founded in 1957 as the Flying Doctors of East Africa to bring critical health services to remote communities, Amref Health Africa in the intervening years has broadened its mission to include training of some 500 thousand community health workers and managing the design and implementation of health development projects in more than 30 countries across Africa. With a focus on women and children, Amref Health Africa strives to overcome the most critical health challenges facing the continent: maternal and child health, HIV & TB, malaria, clean water and sanitation and surgical and clinical outreach. Although Amref Health Africa has been formally registered in Ethiopia in 1998, a full-fledged country program was started in 2002. We are currently seeking a consultant firm Assess youth friendly health service determinants behaviors among young people of in and out of school youth in pastoralist community of Afar
Overall Objective of the assessment
To assess the determinants factors that enhance the intervention of youth friendly health services among young people of age 10-24 years in and out of school youth in pastoralist community of zone 3 and 5 in Afar Regional State Specific objectives:
To determine KAP of young people of age 10-24year on utilization of youth friendly health service
To socio-cultural related with youth friendly health services utilization in pastoralist community
To identify factors pushing young people from youth friendly health seeking behaviors in pastoralist community
To assess factors encouraging young people utilization in existing health services
To identify best practical solution and recommend for youth friendly health service intervention in pastoralist community
Scope of the work
The overall objective of this study is to assess knowledge, Risk perception, attitude, social influence, self-efficacy, intention, skills, external factors, cultural, religious and societal context explicitly and implicitly influence and behavioral change towards HIV/AIDS/STI, unintended pregnancy, unsafe abortion, high-risk sexual behavior( unprotected sex, sex with non regular multi-partners) and pattern/trends/of condom and contraceptive utilization and youth friendly health services utilization among young people age 10-24years of in and out of school youth in zone three and five of Afar Regional State, Ethiopia.
Job Requirement
The potential consultancy firm is required to meet the following minimum requirements in order to qualify for the submission of proposal.
Should have firmed consultant organization with experience in study research on youth friendly health service and related SRH
Should have MPH and above or in related field
At least 2-3 year work experience in research on Sexual Reproductive health programme and related field as a consultant
Should have excellent written and reporting skills in English
Work experience on research in pastoralist area is highly preferable
Should have to met the deadline with quality finding experience evidences
Have to have interest to work in hard to reach areas in pastoralist community of Afar,
The applicant should attachment all supportive documents.
Technical and financial proposals should be submitted in separate sealed envelopes.
The consultancy firm should be a registered firm and whose license is re-registered and renewed for the current Ethiopian fiscal year.
