Background: Nuru International is a registered US based international NGO working in fighting extreme poverty in rural parts of Ethiopia. Nuru international started a new project to work in Boreda Woreda under SNNPRS aiming at improving the living conditions of people in focus.

Term and conditions: The appointment will be initially for six months with 45 days probation period, with possible long term fixed annual term contract extension.
The salary and the benefits. 13,000 -16,000 depending on the experience and qualification plus other attractive benefit packages. But, Negotiable for qualified candidates.
Job Summary: The Finance and Administration Head, directly accountable to the Country Director, and in charge of coordinating and leading all the financial and administrative tasks of the organization in Ethiopia.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Organizing the administration in accordance with the administration and financial manual taking into consideration national laws, suggestions made by the auditors, and the needs of Nuru International Headquarters
Work with U.S.-based International Controller for Nuru International to ensure financial & accounting systems are accountable, transparent, and compatible with U.S. reporting requirements in addition to reporting requirements of the Ethiopian government
Coordinating, training, and supervising all the administrative personnel and mentoring to build the capacity of finance staff
Develop & Update HR as well as Financial policies and forms ensuring that policies are followed
Reviewing and overseeing all financial tranactions and ensuring accuracies of all data and reporting
Conducting internal audit and preparing all relevant documentation for external auditors whenever required
Controlling that all expenses of the organization are done in compliance with national laws and internal procedures, that taxes are duly withheld and paid to the income tax authority.
Controlling that all transactions of the organization are properly filed and recorded in the appropriate account with all relevant documentation attached
Work with Country Director to create and manage annual budget and conduct budget training for all relevant staff
Controlling expenditure against budget; for Donor as well as local government 30 Vs 70 requirement
Preparing periodic financial reports to government bodies and Nuru International head quarter
Administrating employees’ cases such as leave request, staff termination, hiring process
Supervising the logistic activities of the organization
Controlling & ensuring that all the resources and property of the organization are used efficiently and effectively by the employees of the organization Approve all payment vouchers in accordance with the financial rules, regulations and appropriate authorization
Keep all financial and confidential records safe;
Follow-up any updates new laws, decrees, regulations, procedures that may affect the normal operation of the organization
Perform such other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Country Director
Job Requirement
Minimum requirements:
BA or MA in Finance/ Accounting or Business Management.
At least 6 for BA or 3 years for MA years work experience in financial management and/or accounting with INGO, preferably in similar post.
NGO experience is mandatory
CPA or ACCA is preferable but not required
Ability to work independently and proactively lead the finance and admin teams
Excellent communication, organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to multi-task and support and/or fill multiple positions at one time.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow procedures, and work both independently and cooperatively with team members
Humble, servant leader with good communication skill
Fluency in written and spoken English
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Package (specifically Word and Excel) and accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Peachtree)
Knowledge about the context of operational area is an advantage
