General Assignment: Ensure and manage preparedness, prevention and for timely and coordinated response to outbreak or epidemic like AWD, Cholera, Hepatitis E in Lietchor refugee camp and surrounding communities– if required
Responsibilities: 1: Ensure preparedness of outbreak is done:
Prior analysis/ assessment of the situation;
Follow up of supplies;
Raising procurement request if needed;
Making sure delivery of required items on time and needed quality;
Control and follow the stocks and supplies used for outbreak response and prevention;
Develop action plan.
2: Leading outbreak prevention activities:
Set up prevention activities in detail;
Giving training for community workers and key staffs.
3: Ensure timely outbreak response is done:
Supervise, organize and monitor outbreak response team;
Ensure minimum level of water supply, hygiene and sanitation interventions including BCC/IEC materials;
Capacitate COWs and HCOWs on timely reporting and optimum outbreak case management;
Mobilize the involvement of the refugees in prevention and response to outbreak;
Consolidate all daily field reporting to create daily, weekly and monthly reports.
4: Leading coordination role of outbreak preparedness, prevention and response at camp level:
Work closely with camp level WASH and health partners;
Play leading role of outbreak preparedness, prevention and response;
Participate in outbreak response task force meeting in Lietchor and Gambella as required;
Good representation of ACF at camp level;
Making sure proper data recording and interpretation;
Be prepared to accept challenging working conditions, variable working hours and difficult living conditions in refugee camp;
Any other task as required by supervisor.
Job Requirement
Qualifications and skills:
Educational/Professional Background: Degree in Public health, environmental health or related fields, five year experience (two years in emergency context), excellent communication and organisational skills, good knowledge of English.
Required Competences & Skills: Basic understanding of hygiene, health, management of teams, report/record keeping, good writing skill, good organisation and communication, ability to work under difficult conditions.
