Position Summary Leads development of vocational training and/or education intervention aimed to help youth ages 14 to 17 develop marketable skills to secure decent work appropriate for their age. Support other strategies to address exploitative child labor. Develops and conducts trainings for local partners.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Leads the development and implementation of interventions to expand youth’s access to quality vocational training and secondary education, including higher education. • Develops and leads implementation, through local partners, of student assessments, teacher trainings, educational materials/curriculum development, educational management, educational monitoring and information systems and labor market analysis. • Develops and implements strategies to reach youth with special education needs, particularly youth rescued from hazardous working conditions when they enter/ return to school or are provided with alternative education services. • Leads implementation of vocational or skills training programs for target youth. • Facilitates partnerships with vocational training centers, and other academic institutions.
Job Requirement
Minimum Education and Experience Required • Master’s degree education, economics, or related field. • Minimum of ten years of experience in a leadership position responsible for developing vocational training and/or education interventions and the technical aspects related to the project strategy. This includes: student assessment, teacher training, educational materials/curriculum development, educational management, educational monitoring and information systems, and labor market analysis. • Experience managing projects to address issues related to vocational training and secondary education, including access to higher education. • Understanding of special education needs of youth rescued from hazardous working conditions when they enter/ return to school or are provided with alternative education services. • Experience working with youth ages 14 to 17 and their households. • Experience working successfully with the Ministry of Education and other relevant government agencies. • Fluency in English required. • Computer proficiency in general office software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
