Position Title: Project Director/Program Manager Duty Station: Addis Ababa Contract duration: Indefinite period contingent upon funding of Child Protection program Reports To: Head of Programs

Background:
CRS and its partners will undertake new programming to decrease exploitative labor amongst older children in select areas of Ethiopia. The project will promote education and vocational training opportunities for youth as well as promote decent work opportunities for them. There will be a focus on girls, and special attention given to assuring that they have access to safe, sustainable education and work options appropriate to their age. The project will enhance livelihoods and access to social protection programs for youth and their households. It will further promote engagement and leadership by youth in their communities.
Purpose of the Position: To provide overall leadership and management in the technical, administrative, financial and operational aspects of this project, ensuring that all objectives are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a.Project Specific
Supervise and support to senior project staff.
Oversee the work of partner organizations engaged in this project.
Lead the project team to implement strong, gender-sensitive programming including project implementation, development of and responsiveness to community feedback mechanisms, and the establishment of a cycle of learning, adaptation, and improvement.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders at the national, regional and local levels.
Maintain a strong focus across staff, partners and stakeholders on fulfilling the needs of girls in terms of access to and benefits from the project.
Establish and maintain systems for project operations, within CRS/Ethiopia’s larger systems for HR, Administration, Finance, and project management.
Ensure the timely preparation of high quality reports.
Key Working Relationships
The Project Director/Program Manager will establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders nationally, regionally and locally in support of the project. He or she will ensure effective communication between CRS, key partners and stakeholders externally and across CRS’ various program departments. The project manager will be supervised by CRS’ Head of Programs and work closely with CRS and partners’ staff to engender synergies across our work.
Job Requirement
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Education : Completion of 1st or 2nd degree in relevant fields.
Experience:
For 2nd degree a minimum of Six years of experience, For 1st degree a minimum of nine years of experience in project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of cooperative agreements.
Strong experience in the field of child protection, youth education, vocational training, youth leadership and/or youth livelihoods.
Competencies /Knowledge, Ability and Skill
Strong organizational skills and with strong competencies in project cycle management
Excellent supervisory skills
A people-person, able to supervise and motivate staff and partners to develop and maintain high quality programming. A solid team player who is able to work with a diverse group of people and organizations.
Strong communicator with good presentation, written and organizational skills.
Capacity in financial management
Strong computer skills
Fluency in English required. Amharic knowledge a plus.
