Being an employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Ethiopia the School Centre Administrator is expected to represent NRC in a responsible manner and always act in accordance with NRC’s Code of Conduct.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The Centre Administrator is responsible for:
• Managing and coordinating Centre activities effectively.
• Collecting and registering daily attendance of teachers, trainers, support staff in the centre, analysing and keeping records/statistics at the centres
• Managing security and logistic issues at the centre, including safekeeping and records of all tools and materials at the centre and in the various vocational skills’ workshop shops.
• Providing necessary materials and tools for the teachers/trainers and keeping records.
• Continuous supervision of teaching methodology and initiate in-service training of teachers and instructors.
• daily supervision of the students , teachers, trainers and the activities in the various vocational skills workshops
• information and cooperation with the community and relevant authorities
• Coordination with other Centres in cooperation with the center staff
• Daily supervision of the center support staff including cleaners, caretakers and security guards.
• Immediately reporting to the Education Project Assistant if a teacher or/and a trainer does not adhere to the standards of accountability (see the Teachers’ Code of Conduct).
• Initiating and participating in the teachers’/trainers’ capacity development training workshops.
• Take a leading role in the sensitisation of the community on the importance of NRC education projects in the camp
• Delivering a monthly report on the Centres’ activities and statistics to the Education Project Assistant
• Carry out any other duty assigned to her/him by NRC.
Necessary Qualification and Work Experience:
• First degree in Education/educational management, Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Business Administration, Sociology
• Relevant work experience in education project assistant preferably in Emergency education and TVETs
• Work experience in NGO Emergency Education
