IMPAQ International is seeking a Leadership Development Specialist for the 4 year, US Department of Labor, Bureau of International Labor Affairs-funded exploitative child labor project in Ethiopia. This technical assistance program will address exploitative child labor by helping youth ages 14-17, with a focus on female youth, develop marketable skills to secure decent work that is age-appropriate and serve as leaders in their communities. This project will promote education and vocational training opportunities for youth and also seek to enhance livelihoods and access to social protection programs for youth and their households.
The Leadership Development Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing program interventions geared towards mentoring and coaching the youth in becoming community leaders. He/She will also collaborate with the Vocational Training and Education Specialist to coordinate integrated training programs and seminars for transitioning children from hazardous labor to sustainable employment. The Leadership Development Specialist will liaise with civil society partners, private sector actors, and senior government officials to launch programs promoting leadership and youth engagement.

Quailifications
Bachelor’s degree in vocational or secondary education, organizational development, human services, or other related field;
Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in a leadership position responsible for developing youth leadership interventions;
Demonstrated expertise with the technical aspects, including youth development, community engagement, and leadership skills training;
Prior experience with projects that promote youth leadership development;
Proven understanding of youth engagement and development issues, preferably in Ethiopia;
Proven track of working successfully with government agencies and private organizations engaged in promoting youth engagement and development;
Demonstrated experience working with relevant government agencies and civil society organizations;
Strong written and oral communication and outstanding interpersonal skills;
Fluency in Amharic required; knowledge of English preferred; and
