The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, storing, recording, safe guarding, keeping and issuing of goods and materials against document. And update bin cards, and shelves racks regularly and ensuring that they are used appropriately as per the Company’s policy and procedures. Files and keeps all documents related to inventory and store.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Receives, records, stores, keeps safely and issues goods and merchandise under his/her safe keeping against documents;
Keeps under his/her custody all materials, supplies, spare parts, fixed assets, etc. of the organization;
Issues materials, supplies, components, etc. to requisitioning departments/units upon receipt of duly signed and approved store material requisition;
Checks goods against purchase orders, suppliers invoices and or packing lists, and ensures that the goods are in good condition before receiving them;
Whenever there are missing, damaged, broken or spoiled items, reports immediately to the Purchase and Supplies Head, and writes the condition on the relevant Goods Receiving Note;
Designs appropriate storage arrangements in the stores for efficient utilization of the available space, and to allow easy movement of people in the store;
Ensures the security of materials in the store against damage, theft, deterioration, pilferage, hazards, such as dirt, fire, rain water, etc. and makes sure that the store is kept neat and clean;
Takes physical inventory count annually and during the year at regular intervals to ensure that physical inventory and bin card balances always tally;
