Job Purpose
Managing store network expansion and continual store network improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop strategy for the Store Network Development function in line with the ALLE’s vision, mission, and corporate strategy
Establish new and implement existing policies, processes and procedures in compliance with Ethiopian legal requirements, international best practices and the company’s overall strategy and objectives
Develop plans or review proposals for the Store Network Development function and translate them into strategy objectives for the network strategy, construction, and fit-out teams.
Monitor plans and their implementation.
Oversee the development and implementation of the network strategy, construction, and fit-out plans and budgets for the fiscal year.
Develop KPIs for the network strategy, construction, and fit-out teams and establish service levels to be achieved
Monitor the performance of the Store Network Development Department and devise remedial measures if and when needed
Manage the execution of the short-to-medium term expansion plans and timeline based on the defined network roll-out strategy
Establish analytic tools and metrics for optimal future store location
Support and supervise required field trips or site scouting or evaluation
Approve prioritization and scheduling for store network roll-out
Supervise design works and tenders for construction/refurbishment of store buildings and ancillary works
Oversee planning, supervision, and execution of construction/refurbishment projects
Facilitate all aspects of ongoing construction activities between the appointed construction consultant and currently engaged contractors
Ensure appropriate staffing in terms of quality and quantity for the teams under his/her supervision
Participate in staff management and development at all levels through talent acquisition, coaching, training, performance management, and motivating teams for high-performance
Monitor completion of full fit-out for finished stores (e.g. with shelving and cash counter placement )
Collaborate on a frequent basis with store operations team to smoothly hand over store development projects upon finalization
Liaise with maintenance department to ensure continued upkeep of desired store quality standards
Ensure that general store network development practices are up-to-date with recent domestic and international standards.
Collaborate with Legal Department to resolve any legal issues pertaining to warehousing, inventory management and maintenance.
Lead/work on other assignments and special projects as assigned by the company’s Management Team.

Minimum BSC degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology Management or related field; MBA or MSC in Engineering Management preferred.
At least fifteen (15) years’ professional work experience in FMCG/retail/wholesale/warehousing/distribution.
At least five (5) years’ managerial experience in similar roles
Strong project management skills and results orientation
Ability to manage and motivate teams
Impeccable technical expertise
Ability to plan, supervise, and deliver multiple construction/ refurbishment projects
Demonstrated planning and execution expertise given complex environments for store/warehouse/production facility expansion and/or development projects
Acquainted with architectural planning software, e.g. AutoCAD
Versatile with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
Strong team worker with a collaborative personality
High motivation, independence, and ability to meet tight deadlines
Excellent monitoring, coordination, communication, and reporting skills
