ToR for Electro Mechanical Training For Dolo/Shire/Jigjiga and BGRS Field Office Water Technicians August 2014 Objective:- The IRC is implementing full WASH or partially, water supplyactivities in Ethiopia Refugee camps located at Somali region Dolo, BG region Sherkole, and Tigray region Shire refugee camps. The IRC has installed several Electro mechanical equipment of generators and pumps for domestic water supply provision at seven refugee camps in the above three regions. The location of these refugee camps is remote and not easily accessible to repair the generators and pumps whenever there is sudden break down. So that IRC has hired electro mechanical technicians at each filed offices and equipped with equipment to maintain/ repair directly at field level for none interrupted and reliable water provision. On this regard, IRC wants to build the technicians capacity on electrometrical equipments to ensure the proper maintenance, adjustment, and repair of the equipment.
Proposed training: - Submersible pump, surface pump , Control box and pump motor Proposed Course Coverage
Pump parts Basics ( submersible and surface pumps)
Control panels parts and Types of Starting System)
Pumps and Control Panel servicing and care
Trouble Shooting on pumps and control panels
Training Participants::- Totally, 12 electromechanical technicians will participate in the training ( 5 from Dollo, 4 from Shire , 2 from Jigjiga and 1 technician from Assosa IRC field offices) . All technicians have practical experience in the job. Their educational back ground ranges from 12 grade complete to diploma on electromechanical equipment maintenance and installation.
Duration of the training: The training must be scheduled for a maximum of one week preferably in August 2014. Place of Training. Addis Ababa, central place to all field offices Documents/Manuals
The consultant is expected to provide adequate and well organized training manual for the participants in hard and soft copy
Methodologies
The training must have theoretical and practical component with 75% of the training session must be allocated to practical sessions. The consultant must have a well equipped training workshop for practical sessions.
The consultant must provide the names of the trainers and shall brief their qualification and level of expertise
