Provide technical guidance and leadership to the project on community livelihood and involvement as well as DRM in Collaborating with the climate Change Advisor.
Support COP in overseeing managing and providing technical assistance for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation activities.
Provide programmatic oversight to all aspects of the program ; coordinating effective implementation of program activities, including development of annual operational work plans and facilitation of timely implementation and responsiveness to stated objectives and monitor budgets expenditures
In consultation with COP, provides conceptual and management guidance to senior professionals /management staff
Responsible for the harmonization of the various components of the work plan to create necessary synergy to build capacity to archive program objective.
In consultation with the COP, establish and maintains partnerships with public and private sector to strengthen programmatic outputs and initiatives
Chairs periodic programmatic meetings to verify the implementation of activities and strategies under the operational plan
In consultation with the COP, contact potential donors, make presentation on DRM activities and experience including exploration of new business
Periodically writes and submits program and technical reports, as well as other necessary reports, as needed
Acts as interim COP when necessary
Facilitate linkage and footer coordination with key stakeholders, including relevant national, regional and woreda/district level government authorities.
Ensure appropriate training and capacity building of all program staff at field level
Carry out other duties, as assigned by the COP
Job Requirement
Education
MSc in international development, agriculture, natural resource, environment, or related field of study.
Experience
Five years or more of progressively responsible work experience in managing and implementing Development, DRR or humanitarian programs in draught-prone areas, in particular in community –based programs, NRM, or DRM.
Required skills
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills; knowledgeable of donor community, government development priorities and policies, ability to strategize project implementation, comfortable working with multi-disciplinary team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proactive leader and team player.
