Scope:
The Environmental Health Manager reports to the EH Coordinator and is responsible for technical oversight & support of implementation of Berhale Refugee camp water supply project.
Responsibilities:
• Manage Berhale water supply project and implemented in a timely and professional manner, according to goal, objectives, and indicators and in line with donor requirements and beneficiary needs;
• Ensure proper documentation of EH activities and experience at field office level;
• Maintain close contact with staffs in IRC Shire field office to ensure effective technical and required logistical support for project implementation;
• Prepare water supply system designs, specification, BOQ, tender documents, etc;
• Conduct needs assessments, project review assessments, and post-project impact assessments as needed and directed;
• Make close supervision of contractors as per the IRC quality and standard.
• Maintain a regular system of project progress monitoring and evaluation;
• Represent the IRC in all meetings with ARRA/UNHCR and other partners;
. Prepare and provide monthly, quarterly and final project reports as per the necessary templates & timing. Provide necessary input to donor reports;
• Prepare Water system O & E Manual and follow up handover the project after completion;
Logistics /Finance:
• Liaise with IRC Administration, Logistics, and Finance Departments to ensure smooth operations and project management;
• Raise and follow up on purchase requests, conduct equipment and materials inspections and ensure timely supply of materials to site;
• Develop and maintain tools to monitor project progress, financial commitments and expenditures against budgets as necessary;
• Maintain budget plans & monitor spending for allocated project budgets
Others:
• Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor, DDP, or CD.
Requirements
• Minimum university degree in water resource engineering, civil, or other related field.
• Six+ years experience in EH (WASH), preferably in a humanitarian setting (refugee camps, rural development, or emergency response)
• Experience of supervising contractors and interaction with international staff and partners and donors.
• Proven management, project planning, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Competent in Windows, MS office programs, email and database experience.
• Fluency in English, spoken and written
• Ability to work under pressure in a potentially unstable security environment.
• Flexible, willing to travel and live temporarily in harsh environment
