Basic Responsibilities: • Carry out planning and development of gender program strategies, concept papers, and proposal documents for FH Ethiopia. • Develop and disseminate tools for gender analysis in collaboration with other FHE staff • Establish network and collaboration with other players in the field of gender • Promote and develop action plans for mainstreaming of gender at program and project level. • Monitor implementation of gender and development strategy within FHE programming. • Build capacity of FHE staff in gender and development programming. • Advise FHE Leadership on the internal policies regarding gender issues. • Represent FHE as the gender specialist point person at local and international forums, as well as internal task forces and committees as needed. • Liaise with the Government and other development agencies to understand trends and changes in gender and development. • Monitor the implementation of recommendations of gender audit and gender analysis reports and hold periodic internal gender audits and assessments Develop initiatives that ensure respect for and protection of women and girls’ in FHE communities. • Coordinate and conduct research and advocacy initiatives on gender issues, promote equal opportunity to access and control over resources. • Promote networking & partnership with government, churches and likeminded organizations to promote gender equality. • Work with HR to foster a gender-friendly working environment, integrate gender in HR & OD works and monitor change. • Work with FHE leadership to mainstream gender perspectives in policy/ strategy development and in programmes and revise/improve policies as necessary based on learning from implementation • Maintain and deepen relationships with other Departments & projects to foster gender integration as cross-cutting theme in their areas of work

Job Requirement
Requirements: Education/Experience - MA in Gender & Development, law, Sociology or related Social Development Studies with minimum of six years relevant experience preferably in NGO Settings. Special Training /Skills • Proven experience working successfully with cross-functional teams • Ability to manage multiple tasks. • Training in Facilitation skills and gender mainstreaming.
