GOAL is an Irish based international NGO with Programmes in Rural Development and Humanitarian Response. The Rural Development Programme focuses on Health, Education, Water and sanitation, Livelihoods and Agriculture with cross cutting issues in gender, Child protection, environment protection and HIV/AIDS, in Sidama, Borena and West Hararghe Programme Offices. The Humanitarian Response Programme focus on nutrition intervention activities, working with the ministry of Health to monitor the nutrition, health and food security status with its current intervention areas in Oromiya, SNNPR, Afar and Amhara Regions.
Livelihoods programme is one segment of GOAL Ethiopia Rural Development Programme (RDP). GOAL Ethiopia livelihoods programme envision to protect and promote resilient livelihoods to ensure adequate food availability and income access across rural and urban environment through promoting improved technologies, providing skill development trainings, upgrading local assets (Human, Social, financial and physical assets) and facilitate its utilization, make information accessible and available to local level and reinforcing the capacity of institutions.
GOAL is looking for a highly motivated and capable professional to fill the post of Growing Resilience through Agriculture Strategies and Solutions (GRASS) Project Officer who will be responsible for overall implementation of the project at field office level. S/He shall be responsible for directly implementing and monitoring GRASS project interventions, with support from the field office program manager, Senior Livelihoods Programme officer and Senior Livelihoods program advisor. The position will work closely with grassroots staff including Community Development Workers and other technical Officers (Health, WASH and gender).
Requirements: (educational, experience, language, etc.)
• BSc in Agriculture, DRM and sustainable development or related field or Diploma in similar fields with 2 and 4 years of work experience respectively for BSc & Diploma preferably with an NGO.
• Field experience in agriculture or disaster risk management in NGO environment.
• Good experience in the use and development of a wide range of PRA skills.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with community and local government organizations.
• Flexible and creative approach highly motivated and able to take the initiative and work unsupervised.

• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written and knowledge of local language, Oromiffaa, is mandatory.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Gender sensitive.
Remuneration and Benefits:
GOAL pays a monthly salary of 7,567.00 – 9,711.00 (Seven thousand five hundred sixty seven – Nine thousand sevne hundred eleven birr) provides benefits like;
• Transportation Allowance, 10% of monthly salary,
• Hardship allowance, 30% of monthly salary,
• Medical Allowance, birr 6500/annum.
