Length of Contract: 1 Year, with possible extension
Job Description: The WASH Project Manager will directly manage the implementation of a Water Sources Development and Rehabilitation project focused on sustainable water schemes management in Halaba Special Woreda including the supervision of field staff, monitoring of field activities, budget tracking, and close coordination with non-state, governmental, and community-level partners. A highly motivated individual with significant WASH-related experience working in remote rural areas, particularly in Southern Ethiopia is desired. The position will report directly to the WASH Program Coordinator in Awassa.
Job Requirement
Main responsibilities:
Implementation of water sources management and rehabilitation project in Halaba Special Woreda including detailed water sources utilization behavioral assessments, water scheme rehabilitations, and hygiene and sanitation promotion activities
Active supervision of supporting staff with frequent visits to the field and participation in programmatic activities
Effective and regular coordination with local implementation partners, authorities, and communities
· Ensuring project activities meet relevant SPHERE and governmental standards · Regular internal and external reporting
Qualifications and requirements: · Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with INGOs and relevant BSc. or above in WASH related disciplines · Excellent administrative and communication skills, highly organized, reliable and responsible · Proven team leading and managerial experience · Spoken “Halabisa” is highly desired · Excellent knowledge of spoken & written Amharic and English · Demonstrated technical and logistical understanding of public health, hygiene & sanitation promotion, capacity building and water-related constructions (boreholes, roof-catchment systems, hand-dug wells, shallow wells, protected springs, etc.) · Significant experience in the INGO working environment.
