To support the NTD team in the Federal Ministry of Health with technical issues regarding NTD data base that is necessary for the works of the ministry and its partners.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: The Data Manager will support the Federal NTD Team and the RTI|Envision Resident Program Advisor in the area of strengthening NTD data management.
Roles and responsibilities
Work alongside the Federal Ministry of Health NTD program managers to help with entering data from NTD activities which the Ministry is working on;
Support the Ministry in providing accurate country-wide NTD and other relevant data as and when needed;
Be responsible for ensuring all information is correctly entered in to the database and work with different software from different key partners;
Advice the NTD team in improving database management at federal and regional levels;
Provide basic assistance to the Ministry in implementing the WHO Integrated NTD database;
Update and maintain the NTD drug inventory into the NTD database;
Keep all electronic records up-to-date to and ensure efficiency with data collection and recording;
Work with partners to understand their systems and help strengthen database management within the NTD team and other relevant directorates of the Ministry;
Submit regular performance report to the NTD team leader and RTI|Envision;
Other responsibilities as assigned by the National NTD Team Leader.
Job Requirement
QUALIFICATIONS
A university degree, undergraduate or above, in public health or relevant discipline with at least four years of experience in public health.
At least three years of progressive relevant experience in database management and program monitoring and evaluation.
At least two years of professional use of Microsoft Windows/Excel software, and one year professional use of Access, SPSS, and other statistical packages.
Experience in infectious diseases a requirement, experience in Neglected Tropical Diseases strongly preferred.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
Strong English language oral and written communication skills with native fluency in Amharic.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience in disease surveillance, infectious diseases preferred.
Experience working with USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred.
Willingness to travel within Ethiopia frequently.
Must be able to work in Ethiopia without visa sponsorship.
