MAIN OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
To assist the logistics in executing a clearly defined subset of watsan activities according to MSF standards and procedures
MISSION AND PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES Planning
In collaboration with the Watsan team leader, monitors the progress of Watsan activities against objectives and work plan
Liaises with logistics for resources to implement Watsan activities
To assist with the analysis of the WatSan situation in a refugee camp, a kebele, etc. in relation to health, social and economic factors
To assist with the design of an appropriate WatSan program
To signal the need for and to assist with the implementation of WatSan surveys and surveillance of WatSan activities and WatSan related health problems
To implement WatSan program/activities
Mapping of WATSAN facilities in the refugee camps, e.g water points, latrines etc.
Human Resources Management
Manages and coaches watsan staff in the different locations.
To functionally and to a certain extent hierarchically supervise WatSan personnel: recruitment, coaching and training, perform job appraisals, monitor progress, assure presence through rotation schedules, and holiday and absence planning, etc
To support medical personnel by training and coaching them in their WatSan tasks.
Communication
To collect data and to draw up monthly WatSan reports
Maintains regular contact with Watsan Team Leader
Remuneration and Benefits:
Starting gross salary: 7929 ETB
Medical Coverage 100%
DURATION: 3 months and possibility of extension
Job Requirement
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Basic: B.SC in Public Health/Environmental Health/Geology OR Diploma in Civil Engineering or Advanced Diploma in Hydraulic Engineering Relevant training/experiences in the field of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation
Experience: Experience or be familiar with the following subjects:
Health Care Waste Management
Vector Control
Hygiene Promotion
At least two years of experience Hands-on experience in Water Hygiene and Sanitation, Environmental or Public Health Experience in management and coaching others
Languages: Fluency in English, Amharic, Nuer is Desirable
Desirable Knowledge and skills: - Good computer knowledge (Excel and Log7) - Excellent Organizational and communicational skills required - Team player - Flexible
